Record Entries for the 21st NFF

From May 14-19 the Neisse Film Festival is entering its 21st round. We received more than 900 film entries this year -- more than ever before. The full-length, documentary and short films that have been submitted portray current and historical topics as well as timeless stories, and are competing for the ten Neisse Fish awards which are being designed once again by the local artist Andreas Kupfer from Strahwalde. Which of these films will end up being chosen for the three competitions and the other topical film series will be decided by early April.

"The fact that so many and such diverse films are once again seeking their way to our cinemas and into the Neisse FIlm Festival program validates our continued work," says festival head Ola Staszel, and goes on to express, "We are glad to welcome new faces in the selection committee who will be helping us view all the films and curate the final program." Some of the members of the selection committee are Ludmila Pogodina, an artist and journalist living in Berlin and originally from Belarus who participated in the festival last year as resident DJ, or Josefine Siebert, specialist in cultural and media studies from Cottbus. Here you can find the complete selection committee at here.
